Gimpel thinks big

We have few American-born politicians in Israel but sure they are extremists. Gimpel, a candidate for the Knesset, was filmed explaining to an American Christian group: “Imagine today if the golden dome, I’m being recorded so I can’t say blown up, but let’s say it was blown up, right, and we laid the cornerstone of the Temple in Jerusalem. Can you imagine what would be? None of you would be here. You would be going to Israel. It would be incredible.” Gimpel explained that his words were taken out of context. He still does not realize that he is not anymore in Kansas but in this shitty Middle East, where words do kill.

What a fool to say that while being recorded. The Muslim world will have a field day with it. How many synagogues will be blown up by Islamists on his account?

The Muslim world will make a little bit of noise (maybe) and STFU. Any terror attacks in the planning before the statement might be officially ascribed to it.

Also, Gimpel is right-the first thing an actual sovereign Jewish government will do is to move the dome and rebuild the Temple.

The current government is sovereign and Jewish, just not Orthodox Jewish. You always write that things wouldn't fall apart if the Orthodox come to power, but here you predict that one of their first acts would be to give the Muslims provocation for jihad. Moreover, this would be a sign of ferocious intolerance that secular Jews couldn't ignore. Many would want to emigrate rather then endure life under the Jewish Taliban. And the rest of the world would condemn this action severely. Maybe it wouldn't matter, but Israel wouldn't have survived in 1973 without Nixon's weapons shipments. Israel doesn't have inexhaustible supplies of raw materials or fuel, so what the world thinks still matters.

There are no sovereign governments in the world, except for Russia and China (in a limited way.)

The Jews give the Muslims provocation for jihad just by living in Israel. Whether they actively engage in jihad or not depends solely on their opportunity to do so and fear of the consequences.

The rest we've already discussed.

Tampering with the Dome of the Rock would allow the Muslims more internal unity and provide them with more allies. It would cause them to fear the consequences less and spur them to act. It is inadvisable to underestimate one's enemies.

If israel builds the third temple will ne the death of rabbinical judaism and a return to the sadducces... Wall jews with the surname Cohen and Levi are going to be the new ruling priestly class.

The diaspora will prevent the end of rabbinical Judaism. Also, the priests were often subjugated to monarchs during biblical history. In the modern era, I don't think it will be possible to convince all Jews that the rebuilt Temple is divinely ordained. Secular and Reform Jews will certainly be skeptical. The 3rd Temple priests can issue religious edicts as much as they like, but I won't pay them much attention.

The 3rd temple will be rebuilt when the jews learn to dance like this:

Converted Zionists are the most fanatical just as converts to any cause are.

There was time when zionists are just a bunch of secular leftists... What happened?

Reality. It's hard to be a bleeding heart when times are bad or you live in a perpetual state of military readiness.

There will not be a return to the Sadducees-the Rabbinical system has existed prior to the Sadducee-Pharisee split, in Temple times, and the Sadducees are gone.

Cohanism will be verified by the sovereign (the Rambam says that it will be through a returned prophetic ability.) Last names are not really relevant. And the cohanim were never rulers-these were always two distinct functions.

Reform Jews, Christian Jews, Satanist Jews, agnostic Jews and Buddhist Jews living in St. Louis, Missouri are not relevant to the process. There was a diaspora in Temple times, too, which didn't affect anything.

Israel needs to take care of its fag problems and purify the land before it can rebuild the temple.

Unrelated to Gimple, but Jeez there are a lot of conspiracy nuts on Youtube. The site has become almost unusable when it comes to searching for Israel related videos, as you have to wade through all the propaganda and crackpots to find anything decent.

well, not only in youtube, although they must be the worse. I open it and first thing it offers me Nazi WWII films, Hungarian Nazi propaganda, and so. They must have concluded that I am a fanatical German Nazi.

One have to be careful about searchwords, because they use them to profile the users.

I am happy that they dont offer me porn - 80% of the internet is sex and porn.

On the other hand, youtube has very good professional clips of serious people. I learned a lot about aquarium building (I am an expert witness on that subject!).

Yeah, I keep getting recommended to watch Ernst Zundal as though I'm a Holocaust denier because my previous search happened to include the word "jewish".

I try to stick to music videos or television clips which is the site's A game. I discovered Keren Ann today - very soothing voice.

Truth is I dont see building a temple one of the priorities of contemporary Zionism. Who needs another UN condemnation for incinerating a red cow?

Cremieux said...

The levite priets used their control of the temple to extract money and food (the sacrifices) from the common jews... Isn't what the haredim are doing today.

What's contemporary Zionism? Secular Zionism is about dead, and the religious Zionists are obliged to want a Temple.

Lapid got 19 mandates from nothing, so secular Zionism is not dead. I am just describing what it is, not what I m for,
