The vast majority of American's (until very recently) were of Northern European extraction - > 85%. It's only recently with the crazy open door immigration policy that America has lost its cultural backbone and Ethnic identity.

You do realize that not all people of Nordic descent look Nordic, right? Well, not every Jew looks Jewish. A large population is likely to have a range of phenotypes. Even though the stereotypes have a degree of truth to them, they do not capture the full range of variation.
