Sealed books

Some seventy lead booklets of the time of Jesus are in possession of the Government of Jordan and they are not allowing access to them, not even for scholars. Jewish texts of those times were normally in the form of scrolls like the Qumran scrolls, but Christian sources mention books and specially The Book of Revelations refers to these "sealed books". Why Jordan keeps them in such secret? Because it would strengthen the Jewish claim to Jerusalem? Or is it a general Muslim thing - like the destruction of the Afghan Buddha monument and all remnants of pre-Islamic cults? Archaeology is forbidden in Saudi Arabia. They are sure that the past is a dangerous place to visit.

Some authorities think the lead codices are fakes.

Why the Book of Esther isn't part of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Even old fakes are interesting.

Why Jordan keeps them in such secret?

The books curse whoever opens them. Like Pharaohs tomb.

They aren't necessarily old fakes but fakes made to look old.
